Electrolysis  (from Latin pilus - hair) is a method of permanently removing hair using a small electrical discharge directed directly to the hair root. As a result of this discharge, a chemical (leaching) or thermal burn (coagulation) of the hair follicle, as well as the hair growth zone, occurs. Irreversible necrosis of the stem cells of the hair follicle and the capillary that nourishes the hair guarantees the result of the final removal. The protein of the hair follicle is curled up and the hair is painlessly removed with tweezers. The hair dies, that is, a new hair will never form from this hair follicle. Electrolysis has been effectively used for cosmetic and medical purposes for over a hundred years, including in the treatment of hirsutism.

According to the results of clinical studies, the official science has recognized electrolysis as the only method of permanent hair removal today. The American state body Food and Drug Administration, which also controls medicine, permits the use of the mark " permanent hair removal " exclusively for this method of hair removal. Whereas photo and laser hair removal are positioned as "permanent hair reduction" - a reduction in the amount of hair.

The procedure is carried out on  Apilus  (Canada)  - device for electrolysis No. 1 in the world.

Why choose electrolysis:

  • Safe for health.

  • 100% effective.

  • Removes any type of hair, on any area.

  • Cost effective.

Attention!  If you have undergone laser hair removal procedures (which inhibit hair growth, but do not destroy the growth zone of the root), over time, the hairs will restore growth, which will increase the course of electrolysis, since the laser-treated hair will grow chaotically and it is not known how long it will take for the depressed hairs to grow.

Frequently asked questions and answers to them:

Contraindications to the procedure.

  • Acute and chronic skin diseases.

  • Benign and malignant skin lesions.

  • Infectious diseases, including hepatitis, HIV.

  • Tendency to form keloid scars.

  • Metal prostheses, intrauterine devices.

  • Pacemaker, severe forms of hypertensive and coronary heart disease.

  • Varicose veins at the site of EE.

  • Pregnancy, lactation.

Advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages:

  • It is absolutely safe recognized by WHO as a procedure for safe permanent hair removal forever, subject to sterility.

  • It has been used since 1875 and has been proven effective for 140 years.

  • Works with hair of any color and type (black, red, gray, hard, vellus), regardless of skin color.

  • Hair is removed from any part of the body except the inside of the nose and ears.

  • Only EE removes hair even in hormone-dependent areas (mustache, beard, belly), since the growth zone is destroyed.

  • Cost effective, cheaper than laser, elos, photoepilation. You pay for the actual hair removal time, not the amount per zone. The effect is forever.

Disadvantages:

  • The duration of the session is from several minutes to several hours per session.

  • Soreness depends on the pain threshold, you can always apply anesthesia.

  • Application of anesthesia - applications with anesthetic cream or injections of mepivastezine, ultracaine ...

  • Breaking the integrity of the skin is a medical invasive procedure.

  • After the procedure, care is required (treatment with chlorhexidine at least 2 times a day) in order to exclude infection from micro-wounds.

  • Side effects and complications are possible with the incompetence of a specialist: severe edema, inflammation, infection, abscess, burns, scars.

The expected, temporary consequences include:

  • Swelling and redness is a normal response of the skin to an electrical impulse. It takes hours or days, everything is very individual.

  • Micro-wounds, crusts at the insertion sites of the needle - electrode, which peel off on their own without intervention.

  • Hematomas, bruises can occur with fragility of blood vessels, anesthesia, and disappear on their own within a few days.

  • Increased itching at the epilation site, individual reaction, if it occurs, do not scratch!

EE course cost.

Противопоказания к процедуре
Преимущества и недостатки.
Цена

It is impossible to calculate the exact cost. The price for an electrolysis course is the same as for a laser hair removal course. The first session is the most expensive, each next one is 20-30% cheaper.
Let us consider using the example of the EE of the armpits (based on 400 UAH per hour):
1 session - 150 min - 1000 UAH
2nd session - 100 min -700 UAH
3 session - 80 min - 560 UAH
4 session - 60 min - 400 UAH
5 session - 45 min - 315 UAH
6 session - 30 min - 200 UAH

...
+ cost of a sterile needle electrode and pain relief.

This diagram is approximate! the first session can take either 100 or 180 minutes. The average course is 15 procedures.
The total amount of time depends on the density of the hair and the size of the zone. For the master, the armpit and bikin areas are more difficult to handle than, for example, legs. It is more difficult to get close to them, the skin is mobile, requires constant fixation, hair grows in different directions, bristly hair has a deeper root ... these zones are accordingly more time-consuming and costly.

How to prepare for the procedure.

  • First, carefully study the list of contraindications. When talking before the first procedure, answer the questions of the master honestly, do not hide anything! Electrolysis in Ukraine is not included in the list of medical  manipulation. But since the integrity of the skin is violated during the procedure, in order to prevent undesirable consequences, do the procedure with a master with a medical education.

  • Study the information on the website and, if possible, from other sources. Ask all your questions before the procedure. During the first procedure, there is always a consultation time.

  • The optimal length of the hair is 0.5-1 cm. If the hair is completely without pigment, it is better to paint it with black paint.

  • 1–2 months before the procedure, do not use viral hair removal techniques (sugaring, wax, electric depilator), since mechanical hair removal slows down their growth and disrupts the growth cycle. You can use a razor or trim.

  • The first time I recommend signing up for an hour, maximum 2. The first procedure is always stressful, most come after reading, having seen enough "on pins and needles," in anticipation of pain. But in reality, everything is not so scary in the right hands. And for the second procedure, they already come with peace of mind to read books and watch films.

  • The day before the procedure, scrub the skin, it will be easier for the master to get into the hair follicle. Moisturize your skin all the time!

EE pain relief.

Pain threshold is a level  irritation caused to the nervous system, in which a person feels  pain . The pain threshold is individual for each person. The same level of irritation can result in both minor and severe pain for different people.

What determines the level of pain during EE:

  • Individual threshold of sensitivity.

  • Psychological attitude.

  • Emotional condition.

  • The state of the nervous system: fatigue, hunger, lack of sleep.

  • The phase of the menstrual cycle.

EE is a rather painful procedure. To minimize pain, the procedure is performed with anesthesia. Depending on the pain threshold and the area of the procedure, different types of anesthesia are used.

Superficial anesthesia  performed by the patient at home about an hour before the procedure and covered with cling film. For application anesthesia, the following are used:  cream "Emla", "Lidocaine spray", "PMU", "B-caine", "Light Frost".

Infiltration anesthesia  - the drug is injected subcutaneously or intradermally with a small needle of an insulin syringe. Performed in the absence of an allergic reaction to the drug.

The mechanism of action of local anesthetics is to interrupt the transmission of electrical impulses along nerve fibers by blocking sodium channels in the membrane of nerve cells.

We use in our practice  mepivastezine . Main active ingredient: mepivacaine.

The auxiliary components included in the composition: sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide (solution 9%), water for injection.

Contraindications to the use of mepivastezine:

  • hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main or to one of the auxiliary components;

  • malignant hyperthermia;

  • cardiac conduction disturbances not supported by a pacemaker;

  • acute heart failure;

  • arterial hypotension in severe form;

  • epilepsy;

  • porphyria.

In pediatrics, it can be used from 4 years of age.

Skin care after the procedure.

After the EE procedure, it is necessary to strictly follow the doctor's recommendations in order to do without unpleasant consequences!

Normal skin response to EE:

  • redness

  • swelling

  • feeling of warmth

  • small punctate crusts

After the procedure at home, wipe the skin at least 2 times a day  chlorhexidine  or  deasan . After drying, we treat with baby powder  or  talcum powder

If there are signs of infection, inform your doctor! We treat with tincture of calendula, ointment "Levomekol", "Methyluracil", "Solcoseryl", "Sudokrem", only on the recommendation of a doctor.

! We do not pick anything, do not squeeze out, do not scratch.

! We do not apply cosmetics if the procedure has been on the face for at least 24 hours.

! Do not apply lotions, creams, deodorants to the treated areas for at least 48 hours.

! During the first 12-16 hours after EE, do not wet the treated area.

! Do not touch with "clean" hands, avoid rubbing.

! Do not sunbathe for 20 days after the procedure.

! Do not exercise in the first days after EE.

! Do not use other hair removal methods between EE treatments, this will significantly slow down the final result.
